Erica Vess owns & operates the RVA Swing studio & has been teaching Lindy Hop, Balboa & Jazz in Richmond since 2012. Known for her patient, clear instruction and A+ joke skills, her primary goal is creating a safe, fun, & supportive learning environment for all students.

You've been asking and it's finally here: learn the Tranky Doo with Erica! Over the course of four 45-minute classes you will learn this classic, fun jazz routine.
You can see a section of this historic vernacular jazz routine in this clip from The Spirit Moves, danced by Al Minns, Pepsi Bethel & Leon James.
While some basic dance experience will make learning the routine easier, none is needed to take this all-levels class, as your instructor will break down all the moves used in the routine.
We will be learning choreography, so if you are learning this routine for the 1st time, you must attend the first class.

How to find us
The RVA Swing studio is located inside the Lakeside Towne Center, at 6114 Lakeside Ave. There is tons of free parking in the lot adjacent to the Farmer's Market pavilion, as well as around the Towne Center building.
Please note that some GPS systems will send you about 2 blocks away. You want the parking lot by the Farmers Market and the CVS. :)
