About the workshop

In this 90 minute class, Ryan & Erica will teach you one of Balboa's most fundamental moves: the out-and-in.  We'll start by breaking down this deceptively simple movement before moving on to more in-depth exploration of things like cross-overs, traveling, rotating, and traveling.

We'll be working with all open position "Bal-Swing" moves in this workshop, and so you don't really need previous Balboa experience to participate. However, this probably shouldn't be the first dance class you have ever taken.  All students should have either some basic Balboa and/or some basic Lindy Hop experience.

About the Instructors

RVA Swing founders Ryan Lemar & Erica Vess have been teaching in Richmond since 2013 and are known for their welcoming classroom demeanor, their methodical approach to fundamentals, and their dedication to whimsical humor.  They love Balboa more than cookies and they want to share this love with YOU.  Here they are competing across the pond at the Thames Valley Balboa Festival in Henley-on-Thames, UK.
