What: 6 week Dance Fitness class series

When: Tuesdays at 6pm starting January 9th
            Saturdays at 10am starting January 4th

Pre-requisites: None.

Cost for 6 week series: Once weekly $35, twice weekly $55
                                        Add Dance Fitness to any other RVA Swing class series for just $25

Drop-in Policy: Single class drop-ins are permitted in this class series at $8 per class. Advance                                      registration for the entire series is encouraged in order to meet class minimums.
                                           

About the Class Series

Want to increase your ability to dance to fast songs, feel stronger and lessen your chance of injury on the social dance floor?  In her 45 minute dance fitness classes, Erica will get your heart pumping with some fun solo jazz-inspired cardio and then take you through some low-impact exercises to strengthen your legs and core, followed by some cool-down stretching.

You don't need to be a dancer to take this class and all fitness levels are welcome.

This will be, first & foremost, an exercise class, so wear casual/athletic clothing that you don't mind getting all sweaty! Bear in mind that we will be doing some exercises on the floor and lifting our legs, etc, so short-shorts are not appropriate.

Starting in January, we will be running our Dance Fitness classes as series, just like all our other studio classes. This means you sign up in advance and commit to attending the same day (or both days!) each week.  It's ok to miss a class or two, as these classes are self-contained, but consistent attendance yields the most benefits!

Single class drop-ins are also available in this series, space permitting.  Conversely, we do need to meet a minimum of pre-registered students to hold each 6-week session, so we encourage you to sign up in advance if you plan to attend.


All students should bring:

-- a pair of clean sneakers or sensible dance flats for active movement (to protect our floor, we ask that all students bring a pair of shoes to change into, rather than wearing the shoes you just wore outside)

-- a yoga or exercise mat (we also have several studio mats available for anyone who does not have their own)

-- a towel 

-- a water bottle


If this is your first Dance Fitness class, please arrive at least 10 minutes before class to get set up, change your shoes, and notify the instructor of any injuries, etc.

How to find us

The RVA Swing studio is located inside the Lakeside Towne Center, at 6114 Lakeside Ave.  There is tons of free parking in the lot adjacent to the Farmer's Market pavilion, as well as behind the Towne Center building.  Enter through the Towne Shops door under the RVA Swing sign (on the side of the building facing Lakeside Ave) and head down the hallway.

Please note that some GPS systems will send you about 2 blocks away.  You want the parking lot by the Farmers Market and the CVS. :)



Refund Policy:  

Please make sure to give us  24 hours notice of cancellations in order to receive a full refund.

Registered for a series and can no longer attend? Please let us know ASAP by emailing RVAswing@gmail.com.  

We can only issue refunds or class credits to students who notify us directly of cancellations before the class begins.

--Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the 1st class of a series are eligible for a full refund or class credit (please indicate your choice when you notify us of your cancellation).

--Cancellations received on the day of the 1st class are considered “late cancellations” because these spaces can be difficult to fill with short notice.  Late cancellations made at least 4 hours before class starts are eligible for a 50% refund or a 50% class-credit  towards a future series.  Please indicate your choice when you notify us of your cancellation.

--Last-minute cancellations received less than 4 hours before a class series begins, as well as no-shows,  are not eligible for any refunds or class credits.

-- Did you have an emergency? Email us up to 24 hours past class start and let us know and you can still get your partial class credit or partial refund.

--Once you start a series, no refund or credit is given for class absences.
